Karen Gountzas grew up in Arcadia, California and moved to Ohio to attend Kent State University, where she earned a B.S. in Video and Film Programming. She was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority and was the Director of the Delta Gamma Philanthropy, Service for Sight, which assisted her to cultivate leadership skills, gain a sense of social identity and become a valuable team player. After she graduated, she moved to Las Vegas to earn a Master’s degree in Counseling psychology from Capella University. During this time, she realized her compassionate nature and empathy for individuals was critical for her in becoming an effective therapist.

Karen is currently a clinical therapist dedicated to improving the quality of life for all levels of diversified clients. She has a passion for dissecting situations to determine the root-cause of problems, while her level of knowledge and working collaboratively with people has helped her positively reinforce others to do the best they can, without her being biased. She is dedicated to improving the quality of life and level of service for clients and is skilled at working with high pressure environments. She has worked in a variety of areas, such as helping individuals deal with anxiety, depression, grief, low-self-esteem, stress and suicidal impulses, while she has worked in several mental health agencies in the Las Vegas area.

Karen is continually recognized for going above and beyond the call of duty to ensure clients realize and reach their highest potential. She is enthusiastic about creating workable solutions to maximize an individual’s well-being and she thrives with a challenge, while delivering beneficial results to her clients. Her motto is “I would like to provide support for others; however, I cannot help someone who does not want to help themselves. Basically, I cannot want more for someone, than they want for themselves. Therefore, if someone wants something bad enough, they will achieve the results.”
